The Caves of Labante, situated in the territory of Castel d'Aiano, are the largest primary travertine caves in Italy and possibly one of the largest in the world. These natural cavities are exceptionally rare, typically not exceeding 4-5 meters in length. However, Labante Cave extends to an impressive 51 meters with a vertical drop of 12 meters.
Above the cave, there is a natural waterfall fed by the same spring that created the limestone formation.
When observed with the sun at your back, Caves of Labante reveals a stunning rainbow effect. Tunnels and crevices allow visitors to explore the caves, where you can admire the natural action of water that has shaped vegetation and calcite crystals into the most peculiar forms. The Caves of Labante are at the heart of a beautiful park, perfect for hiking or cycling excursions.
